Egmond aan Zee is a real family seaside resort, with its long beach, cozy beach bars and plenty of space to play. But there are also plenty of other things to do. Homemade candles and cheese and home-brewed beer are for sale in the historic abbey. You can enjoy walking in the Noordhollands Duin Reserve.
Egmond is only ten kilometers from the historic city of Alkmaar, known for its kaasmarkt. The city is easy to reach by bicycle. Also visit beautiful Haarlem with its canals, gabled houses and drawbridges.

Restaurant Natuurlijk is known in Egmond as the restaurant with sustainable, organic and regional products. In 2012, the restaurant was declared the Purest Restaurant in the Netherlands. There is a large terrace and a mini golf course.

Welcome to Nautilus aan Zee, the most sustainable pavilion in the Netherlands. Nautilus stands on the spot where the beloved Beach Pavilion De Schelp once stood. From 1978 – 2018 De Schelp was a household name in Egmond and the surrounding area for fun, food and drink.
Just like its predecessor, Nautilus is an accessible and hospitable pavilion. Here you will feel welcome and you can enjoy the sun, sea, beach and delicious dishes and drinks. Nautilus is open every day 12 months a year. Experience the ultimate beach rhythm at Nautilus!
What is there to do in Egmond aan Zee
For more active activities,rent a surfboard at the Boardriders Club or Backyard Surf Shop. For renting a mountain bike/beach bike/roadbike at Beach Bastards or another bike at Bike Shop Egmond or Bike Mike.
Pay a visit to the lighthouse of Egmond aan Zee, J.C.J. from Speijk. He proudly towers above the sea dune: the lighthouse, named after Lieutenant Van Speijk. The Egmond lighthouse has been a beacon for sailors for centuries. Nog elke avond schijnt Van Speijk zijn vertrouwde licht over dorp en zee.

The Beach Bastards shop is located at Pompplein 5, centrally located in Egmond aan Zee. A bicycle shop in which the sporty bicycle and experiencing adventures on the bicycle are central. At the Beach Bastards you can rent city bikes and mountain bikes. We also have mountain bikes for rent. We only rent bicycles without pedal assistance, if you really want an electric bicycle or E-bike, we refer you to Bike Mike or Bikeshop Egmond
BikeMike rents out top quality bicycles! Enjoy a beautiful bike ride through Egmond or cycle to Heiloo, Castricum, Bergen aan Zee. In the spring, view the bulb fields or visit the dunes and the forest. Of course, a visit to the beautiful city of Alkmaar should not be missing from your cycling route.
Our dune area that extends along the coast on both the north and the south side of Egmond aan Zee. But also the charming villages such as Egmond aan Zee, Egmond Binnen and Egmond aan den Hoef, but also Bergen, Castricum and Bakkum are well worth a visit. Break on the way? A picnic or a visit to one of the delicious restaurants on the way is all possible.
